Value of Research
Protect Colorado families. Protect university research.
To win the future for families, workers and businesses, Coloradans need university research.
Colorado’s economy has grown 78.6% since 2011 and ranks eighth nationally. And thanks in part to research done at èßäÉçÇø, our strong local economy is still growing. èßäÉçÇø research activities contributed $1.4 billion to the Colorado economy in 2023-2024—a return on the investment in university research of nearly 90%.
èßäÉçÇø has already lost more than $30 million in critical research funding, leading to layoffs and cancelled projects that directly impact the health and well-being of Coloradans.
University research in Colorado powers jobs and our economy. You can help protect it.
What research is at risk?

"Federal funding pays for approximately 70% of èßäÉçÇø’s research each year. ... èßäÉçÇø uses this money to fund research that advances fields like artificial intelligence, space exploration and planetary sciences, quantum technologies, biosciences and climate and energy." — Massimo Ruzzene, senior vice chancellor for research and innovation at èßäÉçÇø, in The Conversation.
